Cones is a German duo of Datashock members Marcel Turkowsky and Ulf Schutte (who records solo as Diamond Lemonade and runs Tape Tektoniks).

"Die Zacken" documents a live performance by Marcel Turkowsky and Ulf Schutte as Cones. The last show on their European Tour with the collective Datashock which they are part of. The show happened to be in the legendary Zakk Club Bremen in the north of Germany. Marcel Turkowsky focusing on the use of his personal memory tapes played in prepared walkmen. He blends layers of fieldrecordings from broken icelakes and attack and tone tapesignals as he calls them and transforms it into a vibrante soundsculpture. Joined by Ulf Schuttes pulsating feedbacksystem it becomes a 20min piece in duration. It might recall the experience of a heavy walk through an harsh icestorm along with elephantines or horncreatures - howling and rumbling around your frozen summer ears.
